Liberty students to speak on excitement towards Trump
LYNCHBURG, VIRGINIA- A national radio program (to be announced at a later date, show will air on Friday Jan 20 at 4pm) will be interviewing thirteen Liberty University students and documenting their experience and excitement toward Donald Trump’s presidency during their attendance of the 2017 Presidential Inauguration Jan. 19 and 20.
The students will depart from the university the morning of Jan. 19 after an interview. Jordan Hayley, co-organizer of the trip, Liberty freshman, and founder of Kids4RTRoops and the other students will travel to Washington DC where they will attend a special prayer event, hear from the Israeli Knesset then some will attend a special luncheon at the Trump Hotel with GOP Fundraisers and then go to the concert where President Elect Donald Trump will be speaking.
On Friday January 20, students will attend the swearing in ceremony and the inaugural parade before traveling back to Lynchburg, Virginia.
Jordan Hayley will stay in Washington with her mom, Barbara Hayley, co-organizer of the trip, to attend the Faith Freedom & Future Ball at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, DC organized by WallBuilders, Tea Party Patriots, Faith & Freedom Coalition and American Values. “We are very excited about the opportunity to attend this inauguration above all others as it represents to us a chance for businesses and families to return to American Values and for our country to prosper again.” Barbara Hayley says.
Of the Liberty students attending, seven are a part of the university’s Eagle Scholars Program, a two-year program dedicated to developing leaders both in their university and future careers. In addition, four students from the university’s government program will be participating in the inaugural festivities. An additional Eagle Scholar, Emily Smith is also attending as the trip’s photojournalist.
Jordan Hayley began planning the event with her mother in August 2016 as a result of her deep love for government and history. Barbara Hayley was co-chair of an event for Dr. Ben Carson in October raising money for Ben Carson’s campaign during the 2016 presidential election and established a variety of political connections during her service to Carson’s campaign. The Hayley’s received their inaugural tickets from both Congressman Blake Farenthold of Corpus Christi and Congressman Bob Goodlatte of Virginia, for which they are truly thankful.
“My main purpose for this trip is to witness a moment in history, regardless of who won, and see our 45th president of the United States sworn in,” Jordan Hayley said. “I’m excited to attend the swearing in ceremony for the first time, attend the ball, and seeing everyone come together as a nation. I love all of us coming together as Americans and putting our differences aside to witness a historic moment.
